Acoustic Analysis

Most often, the need for a detailed acoustic analysis arises at the stage of implementation of a full environmental impact assessment, in the case of close proximity to acoustically protected areas, such as housing areas, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, health resort protection zones.

Acceptable acoustic climate standards

The acoustic climate is shaped by environmental noise levels. According to the Environmental Conservation Law of 27 April 2001, noises are sounds with the frequencies between 16 Hz and 16,000 Hz. Under Article 112 of the aforementioned law, noise protection consists in ensuring the best possible acoustic condition of the environment, in particular by:

  1. maintaining noise levels below the acceptable level or at least at that level;
  2. reducing noise levels at least to acceptable levels (when they are exceeded)

The acceptable acoustic climate standards have been defined in the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment on Permissible Levels of Noise in the Environment of 14 June 2007.

The scope of the extended acoustic analysis includes:

  1. analyzing the planning documents
  2. making a digital terrain model
  3. studying the acoustic condition of the environment
  4. forecasting noise emissions
  5. presenting results in tables with attachments with graphics, where noise emissions to the environment are marked in the form of isolines.
