Nature Monitoring and Surveillance
As part of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for investments regarding the construction of wind power plants, it is necessary to carry out annual pre-execution monitoring of the chiropterofauna and ornithofauna.
The purpose of pre-execution monitoring is to formulate a forecast of the impact of the wind farm project on bird and bat populations.

Carrying out
Assessments of impact on the chiropterofauna
When carrying out an assessment of the impact on the chiropterofauna of the construction of a wind farm, the following issues are taken into account:
- the types of interactions between bats and wind turbines,
- the intensity of bat mortality in collisions with windmills,
- the species range of prey and the collision rate of the respective species,
- the impact of the technical parameters of the farm and rotor on collisions,
- the impact of habitat and landscape on bat collisions with windmills,
- the causes of mortality and the factors shaping its variability over time,
Assessment of Impact on the Avifauna
When carrying out an assessment of impact on the avifauna of wind farm construction, the following issues are taken into account:
- the review of impacts,
- the collision mortality rate,
- the changes in land development patterns,
- the barrier effect,
- the direct habitat loss,
- the habitat fragmentation and transformation,
Nature inspections are carried out during the construction stage of the project. The conduct of natural surveillance is conditioned by the provisions of the decision on environmental conditions. The purpose of surveillance is to inspect the progress of construction work and to provide substantive
support in the context of the work being carried out to protect the flora and fauna located within the project boundaries. The person who carries out nature surveillance is a nature conservation specialist.
